Excitement is reaching palpable levels for the Washington Commanders heading into their Week 5 home game against the Cleveland Browns. Dan Quinn's men are on a tear right now, racking up three straight victories and looking like a team that could make some noise in the postseason if the same trend continues. They are further ahead than most anticipated after wholesale changes this offseason, but the campaign is still in its infancy.

The Commanders need to keep standards high, adjust problem areas, and maintain the same purpose that got them so far, so quickly. Cleveland won't be rolling over by any stretch of the imagination. They should also get some key personnel back for the contest to make them more competitive.

Washington's fanbase will provide an electric atmosphere at Northwest Stadium for the players to feed off. This sleeping giant is rapidly rising. Quinn and his players know that hard work is just beginning, but the Commanders have a decent stretch of games over the next month that can put them in a strong position at the midway point.

Another enthralling afternoon awaits. With this in mind, here are five bold predictions for the Commanders in Week 5 versus the Browns.

Bold Commanders predictions vs. the Browns in Week 5

Zach Ertz leads the team in receptions

The Washington Commanders must be thrilled with the contribution made by Zach Ertz so far. Many wondered if he had anything left in the tank after missing so much football in 2023. It's early days, but the signs are immensely encouraging so far.

Ertz quickly became a dependable security blanket across the middle for rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. Kliff Kingsbury is spreading the wealth on offense and getting almost every playmaker involved on a game-to-game basis. The Cleveland Browns have a strong defensive unit, so relying on the more proven pass-catchers might be a smart avenue of pursuit in this one.

The three-time Pro Bowler is exactly that. Kingsbury and Daniels trust Ertz fully to come through when the stakes are highest. Others will have their say, but don't be surprised if the former second-round pick out of Stanford leads the team in receptions in Week 5.
