The Washington Commanders came into the campaign with high hopes they could be embarking on a prosperous new era under the new regime. Josh Harris' ownership group spent their first season in charge overseeing the football operation and determining what more was needed to take this franchise forward. The changes were swift and purposeful to raise further excitement for the future.

It was a journey into the unknown for all involved following wholesale alterations across the board. Fans were approaching things with cautious optimism initially. That's not the case anymore.

Dan Quinn and his coaching staff got a tune out of this new-look roster much sooner than expected. The Commanders are 3-1 through the first month and riding on the crest of a wave. They are gaining national media attention in a positive light for the first time in years. This has primarily revolved around the offense and rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, but the defense also showed signs of life in Week 4 at the Arizona Cardinals following an indifferent start.

The Commanders are a franchise rejuvenated and the team's long-suffering support is starting to believe anything is possible. That's arguably the biggest positive above all else after decades of misery.

With that being said, here are the five biggest positives from the Commanders' perspective over the first quarter of the 2024 campaign.

Commanders' 3-1 record

Playing well and competing at a high level were important factors for the Washington Commanders during their first season under head coach Dan Quinn. However, nothing increases enthusiasm and alters perceptions more than winning football games.

Most analysts thought the Commanders would improve from their four-win campaign in 2023. That wasn't exactly a high bar for which to aim, but they could completely obliterate this number based on their efforts over the opening month.

They already triumphed three times in four outings, including two outstanding road successes against the Cincinnati Bengals and Arizona Cardinals. Sustaining this sensational opening will be a big challenge. However, the Commanders have some outstanding opportunities to build further momentum in the coming weeks heading into the midway point.
