Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB

All eyes were on Jayden Daniels heading into his first offseason. The Washington Commanders and its long-suffering fanbase were eagerly awaiting what the quarterback could bring to the table. It's just the start of his NFL journey, but the early signs are incredibly positive.

Daniels looks and carries himself like a franchise quarterback. The No. 2 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft won over coaches and teammates with outstanding on-field production and exceptional work ethic over initial offseason workouts. He's first into the building and putting in the hard yards to ensure he's ready to hit the ground running when competitive games arrive.

The Commanders know Daniels is a special guy. He was the top-rated prospect overall on their draft board and had a genuine conviction from the primary decision-makers regarding his ability to spearhead this potentially profitable era. It's also a responsibility the Heisman Trophy winner is taking seriously.

This resulted in rave reviews across the board. The Commanders lavished praise on the signal-caller for his smooth transition. It's not going unnoticed around the league either, with several scouts and front-office executives stating how dangerous Washington could be with Daniels under center if the offensive line meets its end of the bargain.

It'll be interesting to see if Daniels can build further momentum when the pads go on at Washington's training camp. This will be more intense and joint practices tend to be feisty affairs more often than not. Getting reps into him during the preseason will also provide a better indication of what the former LSU star might be capable of in Year 1 of his professional career.

Daniels knows what he did in college counts for nothing. It made him incredibly wealthy thanks to his fully guaranteed first-round contract, but superstardom is the goal. Something that could drag the Commanders from obscurity and back among the contenders in double-quick time.
