Jahan Dotson - Commanders WR

The Washington Commanders had some questions to answer at the wide receiver position heading into the offseason. Terry McLaurin's remarkable consistency aside, it was an underwhelming campaign from the unit overall. This was extremely disappointing when one considers how heavily Eric Bieniemy threw the football within his pass-happy offensive system.

Despite the need for reinforcements, the Commanders have stood pat. They resisted the temptation to go after one of the marquee-free agents. Those in power haven't dipped their toe into the trade market either. Jamison Crowder re-signing on a one-year deal was the only notable transaction, and he's seen more as a kick returner at this stage of his career.

While there's a high chance the Commanders will take advantage of the wide receiver prospects emerging from the college ranks, it's a sign that those in power feel like just a few tweaks are needed rather than anything more substantial. That's also a glaring vote of confidence in Jahan Dotson's role entering Year 3 of his professional career.

Dotson was tipped by most analysts to have a breakout campaign in 2023 within Bieniemy's scheme. This didn't materialize for one reason or another, but the former first-round pick out of Penn State boasts the athletic attributes needed to potentially thrive with Kliff Kingsbury leading the charge.

Hopes remain high for Dotson. But the wideout should be expecting competition for targets to increase once the draft concludes.
