4 Commanders players who are not safe after the 2024 NFL Draft

Armani Rogers - Commanders TE
Nobody was expecting the Washington Commanders to stand pat at the tight end position this offseason. Those in power needed to improve their options in this key area of the field, especially considering the need to make life easier for their new rookie quarterback.
Logan Thomas was a salary-cap casualty and veteran Zach Ertz reunited with offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury on a short-term deal. This was a like-for-like replacement, but the Commanders also got themselves a potential long-term option by spending one of their three second-round selections on Ben Sinnott.
The former Kansas State standout gained significant traction during the evaluation process. Sinnott's display of athleticism during the NFL Scouting Combine made scouts sit up and take notice. It was reflective of his outstanding college tape - something that led Adam Peters to pull the trigger.
While tempering expectations surrounding Sinnott would be wise, he's got the athletic profile needed to become a complete tight-end capable of assisting in all phases. Peters sees similarities between the player and George Kittle coming out of college. If he goes on to have even half of the veteran's accomplishments, it'll be a pick well spent.
This doesn't bode well for Armani Rogers. Many thought the converted tight end was set for a genuine breakout campaign last season after flashing with limited involvement during the 2022 campaign. Unfortunately, the player endured some torrid luck by tearing his Achilles on the first day of OTAs.
It's been all quiet regarding Rogers since then, but he remains on the roster. How he recovers from such a serious injury will be worth monitoring, but it seems as if the new coaching regime is willing to give him a shot after a luckless run.
This is something Rogers needs to take advantage of. Otherwise, his time with the Commanders could come to an end at any stage thanks to the additions of Ertz and Sinnott.
