Which Washington Commanders fan favorites are in danger of being cut before their Week 1 encounter against the Arizona Cardinals?

While excitement is reaching exponential levels ahead of the Washington Commanders sale vote on July 20, head coach Ron Rivera and his staff will be focusing their attention on training camp and which players should come through onto the 53-man roster. There is increased competition for places this summer after a busy period of recruitment, so it'll be interesting to see which individuals rise or fall during a fascinating few weeks.

The Commanders are embarking on an exciting new era without Dan Snyder, which has galvanized everyone. However, it does not detract from the pressure on Rivera and other influential figures to make the impression needed in pursuit of a reprieve from the ownership group led by Josh Harris.

There is no room for sentiment when it comes to decision-making with jobs on the line. Whether this results in a few surprises along the way remains to be seen.

With this in mind, here are four Commanders fan favorites who could be cut before Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Tyler Larsen - Commanders C

Tyler Larsen earned the respect of fans with some impressive performances last season before the injury bug hit. Ron Rivera gave the center a new one-year deal this offseason, but his spot on the roster is far from assured given what transpired throughout the spring.

The Washington Commanders signed Nick Gates in free agency and also drafted Ricky Stromberg in the third round. Releasing Chase Roullier was another sign of a changing tide, so Larsen has his work cut out getting another opportunity despite having Rivera's trust.
