Commanders moving forward without Dan Snyder

This is the biggest win of all.

Not just this offseason. But for a generation.

Dan Snyder's reign of terror turned the Washington Commanders from one of the NFL's most storied franchises into a proverbial embarrassment. A complete lack of investment in facilities, a stadium that was crumbling, almost no playoff accomplishments, and a constant stream of scandals cast a dark cloud over the organization for almost 25 years - something that left the fanbase disenchanted beyond measure along the way.

After the recent toxic workplace revelations, there was no coming back for Snyder. Thankfully for the Commanders, the billionaire opted to keep his petulance out of the way as buyers came to the fore.

Months of speculation followed, but Josh Harris and a wealthy team of investors finally got an exclusive $6.05 billion deal to buy the Commanders from Snyder. This represents the dawning of an exciting new era for the team and finally, mercifully, ensured the incompetent previous regime is gone for good.

Many never thought this day would come. But when everything gets approved on July 20 during a specially-arranged vote among other NFL owners, it'll all become very real.

Something that is sure to spark jubilant scenes in the D.C. area and wherever there are Commanders fans scattered around the world.
