Which former Washington Commanders players might officially be done in the NFL based on their current career trajectory?
As the Washington Commanders get set to embark on an exciting new era, there are many unknowns ahead. Josh Harris and his ownership group already have ideas about how to take the franchise forward, with head coach Ron Rivera also keen to sit down and discuss their vision before things potentially come to a head.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that big changes might be coming swiftly if the Commanders don't make the necessary improvements in 2023. One could even make a case for it being playoffs or bust for Rivera in Year 4 of his tenure.
While the primary focus is on the future, fans are always keen to keep track of old players who once donned the famous burgundy and gold. For some, it's new beginnings elsewhere while others could be saying goodbye to the game entirely.
With this in mind, here are three former Commanders players that could be done in the NFL.
Jon Bostic - Former Commanders LB
Jon Bostic isn't getting any younger and it seems as if the game of football is passing him by. Something that the former Washington Commanders linebacker is also realizing as he begins to transition into a new role.
While there's a chance he could come back on another team, it does appear unlikely. Especially considering ambitious recent revelations that center on a $38 million Wellington Sports Academy to aid the next generation.
Bostic is funding the project himself, which is a huge financial commitment. One that he truly believes will spark a new era in Palm Beach sports based on his comments via the Palm Beach Post.
"I believe if we give these kids the resources, coaches and the facilities, it will help a lot more of these young athletes in the South Florida area get a chance to go live a dream and play at the next level."

This fantastic initiative means that Bostic has his hands full. So even if he was offered an avenue back into the NFL, the former second-round selection might not accept.
