The Washington Commanders have improved their roster pretty much across the board this offseason. They signed two prolific linebackers, added several players to the defensive backs room, made changes along the offensive line, and also drafted a couple of intriguing pass-catchers. This is something fans have craved for some time.

This could prove detrimental to come players. The following three have flashed potential in the past. However, with the organizational improvement having swept through the nation's capital, the amount of patience the new staff may have for them is going to be a lot less.

A few of them are obvious choices. One, in particular, will be a surprise to some, even with the knowledge of who the Commanders chose with their second-round pick in the draft.

Let's get to the three Commanders players who cannot afford to regress at the team's training camp in 2024.

Jahan Dotson - Commanders WR

There has been a lot going around about Jahan Dotson this offseason. Whether that's because he will finally have a solid quarterback to throw him the ball, his Year 2 regression, or incoming third-round pick Luke McCaffrey out to steal some of his targets. None of it matters.

What does matter is that Dotson gets back to the promise he showed as a rookie when he caught seven touchdowns in only 12 games. The former Penn State star looked like he was one of the league's top up-and-coming receivers. To be honest, he still could be.

With an improved offensive line and with Jayden Daniels at quarterback, it's time for Dotson to show his true colors. The Washington Commanders will find out if he can be a prominent feature or nothing more than a rotational piece moving forward.

Dotson can set the tone by showing out during Washington's training camp. If Kliff Kingsbury sees enough from the wideout to make him a primary focus, he will be given all the opportunities in the world. If he doesn't, the rumors about the Commanders potentially bringing in another receiver will have some more juice.

The third-year pro simply cannot afford to regress. Especially considering the Commanders are depending on Dotson to become a standout No. 2 wide receiver.
