What Christmas crackers have emerged from another underwhelming 2023 campaign where the Washington Commanders are concerned?

Before we get into it, everyone at Riggo's Rag would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. We hope you have a special day whatever you plan on doing. It's not been the easiest journey for the Washington Commanders in 2023, but all signs point to better days ahead with Dan Snyder no longer part of the picture.

The Commanders were looking to achieve a wildcard spot with seats hotter than ever heading into the season. After a 2-0 start, many wondered what this team might be capable of. Since then, the same failings and underachievement have come to the fore.

Things don't look good for many in positions of power. But from the darkness has emerged a few lights that provide hope for the future.

With this in mind, here are three Christmas crackers from another underwhelming season for the Commanders in 2023.

Sam Cosmi - Commanders OL

The Washington Commanders offensive line has not performed well this season. At all. And yet, there is one bright spot amid the turmoil.

Sam Cosmi's transition from the edge into the right guard position has been smooth. There's been the odd blip. The former Texas standout does lose leverage on occasion thanks to his height. But it's been a positive campaign overall and something he can build on moving forward.

Washington's protection needs another complete revamp this offseason. The new regime must prioritize this more effectively than Ron Rivera managed to accomplish throughout his four-year reign. Regardless of what comes next, Cosmi's future as a starter looks assured after an impressive campaign.
