There is no time for the Washington Commanders to revel in their Week 1 victory over the New York Giants. Head coach Dan Quinn and his players had to turn the page quickly with the team's Thursday Night Football showdown against the Green Bay Packers rapidly approaching.

This promises to be a far tougher test than defeating the lowly Giants. The Packers are among the Super Bowl favorites, and rightfully so. They also made a huge statement at the first time of asking, disposing of the Detroit Lions with minimal fuss when it was expected to be much closer.

A stern test awaits the Commanders with the national spotlight glaring. But these are the moments they lived for last season on their way to the NFC Championship game.

Commanders at Packers early odds for Week 2

According to the latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook, the Commanders are 3.5-point underdogs at the Packers in Week 2.

  • Washington +3.5 points: -108 (bet $108 to win $100)
  • Green Bay -3.5 points: -112 (bet $112 to win $100)

Anyone wishing to wager the Commanders' money line can get tempting odds of +158 currently (bet $100 to win $158). The Packers are favored to secure their second triumph in as many weeks in front of their home fans at -188 (bet $188 to win $100).

FanDuel Sportsbook is expecting another pulsating contest on primetime, with the over/under set at 48.5 points for the clash at Lambeau Field.

  • Over 48.5 points: -105 (bet $105 to win $100)
  • Under 48.5 points: -115 (bet $115 to win $100)

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.

Commanders at Packers prediction for Week 2

This is a tough one to call. The Commanders weren't at their best in Week 1, but very few (if any) teams are firing on all cylinders on opening weekend. Quinn needs to rectify any issues quickly because the Packers can punish them far more effectively than the G-Men managed to accomplish.

All eyes will be on the battle between Jayden Daniels and Jordan Love, two of the league's brightest young signal-callers. However, this game will be won or lost in the trenches, so the offensive and defensive lines must perform up to or above what fans witnessed to start the campaign.

Keeping Micah Parsons contained is also desirable. The All-Pro edge rusher has a close connection to Quinn, but he's also making a concerted effort to prove Jerry Jones wrong after being inexplicably traded. He should get more reps, and one would expect the Penn State product to target rookie right tackle Josh Conerly Jr. as a potential weak link.

  • Prediction: Commanders loss

This could go either way if the Commanders can keep it close down the stretch. But looking at the way Green Bay saw off the Lions last weekend, Quinn and his squad have their work cut out.
