This was a little weird.

It all came down to Sunday afternoon for the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles. The 2025 NFC Championship Game was getting ready to kick off at Lincoln Financial Field and, even though they earned every bit of what they've accomplished this season, it still felt like the Commanders didn't stand a chance in the minds of the majority.

Whether we're talking pregame analysis from experts, radio shows all week long or one of several fan polls put out there over the past few days, you'd think the Commanders stood no chance.

In fact, as the game between Washington and Philly kicked off, there may have been an Eagles employee or two who thought the game shouldn't even be played because it was already over.

Why play the game if the Commanders had no chance? Why not just start the celebration a little prematurely?

To be specific, the Eagles appeared to almost start celebrating an NFC Championship as the very first play was snapped.

The Eagles seemed to accidentally release confetti way too early in the NFC Championship Game

An odd scene noticed my many fans watching and reacting via social media, there was a vast stream of confetti that started to fall as the game's very first snap was taken.

The game hadn't even gone one play deep and somehow, some way, an Eagles employee hit the wrong button. Who knows how all of those control panels actually work behind the scenes, but to accidentally press that button?

It wasn't funny, but what was funny was the mental picture of that employee somehow pushing the wrong button and going into a full-on panic mode trying to make it all stop.

Now, that's funny.

Also kind of funny was the fact that the Commanders had the ball to start the game and confetti started to rain down at the beginning of a drive in which Jayden Daniels and Washington's offense would go down and put points on the board.
