The Washington Commanders only had six selections during the 2026 NFL Draft. That made things more complex for general manager Adam Peters, but he managed to get some good returns from the assets available.

Of course, there was another way to bolster the roster with intriguing prospects from the college ranks. And based on reports, the Commanders have been incredibly active over the first few days of undrafted free agency.

The Commanders have some UDFAs on the squad who managed to push their way onto the 53-man roster. Tyler Owens, Colson Yankoff, and Ale Kaho are three recent examples, and many others have also spent time on the practice squad. Peters sees this as an opportunity to unearth gems, and he'll be hoping for similar success this time around.

Commanders have signed eight undrafted free agents with potentially more to come

Based on beat reporters and NFL insiders, the Commanders have signed no fewer than eight UDFAs so far. Here are the names; more may come once Washington releases the full list.

  • Tanoa Togiai, OG, Utah
  • Jaden Bradley, WR, UNLV
  • Chris Hilton Jr., WR, LSU
  • Robert Henry, RB, Texas-San Antonio
  • Quentin Moore, TE, Washington
  • Jeffrey M'ba, DT, SMU
  • Fred Davis II, CB, Northwestern
  • Malik Spencer, S, Michigan State

Some incoming rookies who didn't hear their names called are more intriguing than others, but all will get a shot to carve out roles for themselves in Washington.

There is a nice balance to the UDFA class so far. Chris Hilton Jr. reunites with his former college quarterback, Jayden Daniels. If the former LSU wide receiver can find a way to stay healthy, he might shake things up. The same goes for interior lineman Jeffrey M'ba, an immovable object at SMU whose power and strength could potentially be molded into something more.

Fred Davis II and Malik Spencer will be aiming to force their way into the secondary. Robert Henry will be hoping for the same in Washington's running back unit, and Tanoa Togiai represents an unpolished interior protector who can maul people once early momentum is generated.

Undrafted prospects start from the bottom. They have to fight harder than almost anyone, and very few manage to stick. But given how Washington has rewarded UDFAs, regardless of stature, throughout Dan Quinn's tenure as head coach, this may be the best landing spot for learning and growth.

These are mostly shots in the dark. But if the Commanders can find one or two who can make the team and potentially even the rotation over time, that'll be the best-case scenario in no uncertain terms.
