Commanders vs. LA Rams - Week 9
The challenges keep coming for the Washington Commanders, with the Los Angeles Rams next up. They harbor big ambitions once again. Considering they are hosting the Super Bowl and that this could be quarterback Matthew Stafford's final year before retirement, they have all the motivation they need.
Emmanuel Forbes Jr. has already been chirping, but Washington's 2023 draft bust will be the least of Dan Quinn's problems. Overcoming a ferocious defensive front, an improved secondary, and a high-octane offense will be much more challenging.
- Prediction: Loss (4-4)
Expect the worst and hope for the best in this one.
Commanders at NY Giants - Week 10
Thursday Night Football
Another primetime game for the Commanders. And once again, it's against divisional opposition. Â
The New York Giants should have worked out any complications by this point. Much will depend on whether quarterback Jaxson Dart can stay healthy, but the G-Men will also be thinking the same about Jayden Daniels after he completed just four games during the previous campaign.
- Prediction: Win (5-4)
MetLife Stadium isn't exactly a fortress. If the Commanders can navigate a short week successfully, it's a game they can win.
Commanders vs. Bengals - Week 11
Monday Night Football
Considering the Commanders only won five games last season, they have a lot of primetime games. This proves Washington remains a big draw in a big market, but that won't be the case for much longer if improvements on the field aren't made.
The Cincinnati Bengals will be out for revenge against Washington. They were obliterated by the Commanders in 2024 on primetime, which was Jayden Daniels' coming-out party. However, there is growing media speculation that a playoff push could emerge if Joe Burrow stays in the lineup.
- Prediction: Win (6-4)
This has all the makings of a shootout. If the Commanders can win, it'll be the biggest confidence boost imaginable.
Commanders at Cardinals - Week 12
Another long trip awaits the Commanders in Week 12. Traveling to take on the Arizona Cardinals looks like a winnable contest for Dan Quinn's squad, but complacency cannot become an issue.
The Cardinals are expected to struggle next season, but that is not guaranteed. They have a new head coach in Mike LaFleur, and first-round running back Jeremiyah Love has the talent to turn any game on its head if not accounted for effectively.
- Prediction: Win (7-4)
If the Commanders can make Jacoby Brissett uncomfortable, they can triumph. But Arizona's ascending defense should not be underestimated, either.
Commanders at Titans - Week 13
The Tennessee Titans are an interesting case study entering the season. Robert Saleh is now their head coach. Cam Ward should progress after some encouraging rookie flashes, and the wide receiver duo of Calvin Ridley and No. 4 pick Carnell Tate will be a problem.
At the same time, there are vulnerabilities across the defensive unit until proven otherwise. If Jayden Daniels is healthy and fully in his groove by this point, opportunities for points should be plentiful.
- Prediction: Win (8-4)
Another win would place the Commanders at 8-4 after 12 games in this scenario. Though ambitious, it's not unattainable by any stretch of the imagination.
