Brandon Aiyuk hit with chilling warning as Commanders link enters tense new phase

The NFL will move on.

Brandon Aiyuk is among the league's most polarizing figures right now. The San Francisco 49ers' wide receiver has given up a ton of money during a bitter dispute with the franchise that shows no signs of getting better anytime soon. Most believe he will join the Washington Commanders at some stage, but everything remains under a cloud until further notice.

It's a very unusual situation. The Niners are not budging, opting to keep Aiyuk around in the hope they can get something back in return. They know he wants to land in Washington, but those in power are not going to gift-wrap him to an NFC rival.

This has long become a tedious situation for fans of both clubs. Some want the Niners to rid themselves of this distraction once and for all. Washington's fan base is split between those willing to wait and those who want to move on to other targets.

TJ Houshmandzadeh delivers chilling warning to Brandon Aiyuk as Commanders' buzz stirs

The truth lies somewhere in the middle, but a former personal coach to Aiyuk gave him a stark warning about what could come next if the Niners dig in their heels.

TJ Houshmandzadeh, who used to be close with Aiyuk but admitted he isn't anymore, couldn't believe the way he's approaching his predicament. The NFL doesn't stop for anybody, and the former Pro Bowl wideout urged him to think long and hard before running the risk of his career aspirations ending for good.

“I used to talk to BA [Brandon Aiyuk] often. Haven’t talked to him in a long time. If I did talk to him, I would tell him straight up, 'Bro, what the F are you doing? Tom Brady retired, and did the NFL stop? It kept on going.

"This show don’t stop for nobody. Enjoy the ride while you’re on the bus because when it’s your turn to get off, you ain’t getting back on. Make them force you off."

Aiyuk has his reasons. He felt let down by the Niners, and reports suggest that he wanted to play last season before San Francisco waived his remaining contract guarantees. All contact has been cut off since, and the Arizona State product is also seemingly unwilling to speak with other interested clubs about reworking his contract.

That's only made the water murkier. However, one would probably guess Aiyuk and Jayden Daniels are speaking, both about the situation and the next steps to make their reunion dream a reality.

Not quite tampering. But not far off, either.

The Commanders are involved, whether they like it or not. But make no mistake; this should not prevent Peters from identifying other options to enhance the pass-catching options at Daniels' disposal.

Because even if he does end up in Washington, Aiyuk is not a sure thing by any stretch of the imagination.
