There is still plenty of meat on the bone.

Commanders could sign Stefon Diggs

The Washington Commanders need more help at the wide receiver position. Dyami Brown and Van Jefferson Jr. are competing for roster spots after signing in free agency. There is more intrigue around third-round pick Antonio Williams, but another capable veteran is only going to help quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Speculation remains around Brandon Aiyuk eventually joining the Commanders when his drawn-out saga with the San Francisco 49ers eventually concludes. But unless Adam Peters changes his stance about trading for Daniels' close friend, that situation could go on for months.

And there are other options to consider in the meantime.

Stefon Diggs' legal issues have now been resolved. He expressed his interest in returning closer to home with the Commanders, though there is no indication whether Washington is interested in bringing him on board. There are risks involved, and the pass-catcher has plenty of baggage, but he remains productive.

Commanders could sign Brady Christensen

The Commanders' offensive line has some much-needed stability amid the constant changes elsewhere. But adding depth should always be considered when the right situation presents itself.

Laremy Tunsil and Josh Conerly Jr. are the bookend tackle tandem. Chris Paul and Sam Cosmi will likely be the starting guard pairing. Releasing center Tyoer Biadasz was a bizarre twist with no real explanation attached, but the Commanders have confidence in either Nick Allegretti or Day 3 pick Matt Gulbin to fill the void.

Washington has Brandon Coleman and Andrew Wylie to provide depth and versatility, but it might be worth checking on Brady Christensen's recovery from injury. He can play anywhere along the offensive line and play well. That is a positive trait.

The BYU product tore his Achilles tendon last season, so that needs a positive update. If everything is proceeding as planned, this could be a cheap option for the protection who could slot in almost anywhere with minimal fuss.

Commanders could sign L'Jarius Sneed

Speaking of players who recently concluded their legal issues successfully…

As previously mentioned, the Commanders are a little light on consistent cornerback options heading into the campaign. There is a good chance the group, as it stands, can hold its own if the front seven improves as expected. Even so, concerns will arise quickly if they don't start well next season.

While he's not exactly on an upward trajectory these days, L'Jarius Sneed might be a risk worth taking if the money works for all parties. The two-time Super Bowl winner became a lockdown presence during his time with the Kansas City Chiefs, but instead of paying him, the Chiefs traded the former Louisiana Tech standout to the Tennessee Titans.

Things didn't go nearly as well. Sneed was often injured and never able to sustain any positive momentum for long. That said, the Commanders represent a good environment to potentially galvanize his career.
