Commanders could trade for Marvin Mims Jr.

The Washington Commanders are currently relying on one of their young wide receivers to break out. Terry McLaurin is the only one with proven high-level production. That leaves many unknowns and some trepidation across the fan base about whether more is required.

Adam Peters will give everyone a fair shot. The likes of Treylon Burks and third-round rookie Antonio Williams have caught the eye over the early stages of OTAs, but the hard challenges are still to come. If the Commanders aren't entirely satisfied, they'll add to the group. And there is enough cash to keep nothing off the table.

Marvin Mims Jr. might not be a highly touted name in comparison to others. Even so, there is a lot to like about his skill set within David Blough's concepts.

Mims is electric and explosive with the football in his hands, making things happen after the catch. But with the Denver Broncos having a surplus of playmakers, someone will have to make way.

Commanders could trade for Ronnie Hickman

Ronnie Hickman's rise from an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State to a starting-caliber performer with the Cleveland Browns is heartwarming. The standout defensive back is fast, physical, and a tone-setter in every sense of the term. Going over 100 tackles in 2025 represented another significant milestone, but his long-term status is clouded.

The Browns spent a second-round pick on Emmanuel McNeil-Warren. He had a first-round projection before slipping through the cracks, so this could be a steal for Cleveland if he reaches expectations. Unfortunately, this probably means either Hickman or Grant Delpit won't be around much longer.

Washington didn't do much to improve its safety options this offseason. Nick Cross was signed in free agency, but that's about it. While this approach indicates confidence in those who underperformed last season, someone like Hickman has the tools to be an upgrade if the Browns are receptive to offers.

Commanders could trade for Brandon Aiyuk

No list about free-agent signings or trades would be complete without Brandon Aiyuk, right?

Fans are growing weary of the constant speculation. Aiyuk's standoff with the San Francisco 49ers shows no signs of a successful resolution, and nobody is coming across well. The NFC West club is holding onto the wide receiver in the hope someone becomes desperate enough to part ways with a late Day 3 draft pick to take him off their hands. Nobody has bitten yet, and is unlikely to do so.

Most in league circles still believe Aiyuk will reunite with quarterback Jayden Daniels in Washington. Adam Peters is reportedly warming to the idea, but he is steadfast in his unwillingness to trade for the wideout. That could change, but it remains highly unlikely.

The Niners could hold onto Aiyuk for months yet. They won't be doing him any favors, so unless the Commanders change their stance, everyone involved is in limbo.
