Dyami Brown - Commanders WR
When Dyami Brown left the Washington Commanders during 2025 free agency, not many were expecting to see him again. As it turned out, the wide receiver is back in the mix after one season away.
The Jacksonville Jaguars gave Brown a decent one-year contract after he impressed during Washington's return to the NFC Championship game. He was expected to be a big part of the team's plans, but things fizzled out quickly. The former North Carolina standout became an afterthought, and it was no surprise to see the AFC South club go in a different direction.
Brown took a step back. The on-field production has rarely matched the physical attributes throughout his career. Washington believes there is something to be salvaged, but this reunion doesn't guarantee a roster spot.
It must be earned, and the margin for error has gone. Getting off on the right foot at OTAs is critical for Brown.
Trey Amos - Commanders CB
The Commanders' cornerback unit underwent some slight tweaks this offseason. Several veterans departed, but they were not part of the team's long-term future anyway. A couple of free agents came into the fold, but Amik Robertson and Ahkello Witherspoon wouldn't be classed as needle movers by any stretch.
This is a contentious issue among the fan base. However, it outlines the Commanders' complete faith in Trey Amos to become the potential alpha.
Amos was a second-round pick last year. Adam Peters contemplated taking him in the first round, so getting him when they did was a massive bonus. His rookie flashes were impressive, but as with most influential figures, injury ended his campaign early.
The former Ole Miss star is back and ready to make up for some lost time. Amos' ball tracking, physical approach, and tackling technique look tailor-made for Daronte Jones' schematic concepts. Building confidence at OTAs will only serve him well.
Sonny Styles - Commanders LB
The Commanders believe they have a franchise cornerstone for their defense in Sonny Styles. Not many thought the linebacker would be available at No. 7 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft, but Adam Peters got a gift from the football gods that he wasn't going to waste.
Styles has got it all. His athleticism is off the charts. He was the alpha on an Ohio State defense loaded with first-round talent. The desire to be great, football IQ, and ability to impact the game across all phases made him the Commanders' guy. And he made a positive impression at Washington's rookie minicamp for good measure.
This is not your average rookie. Styles is well aware of the responsibilities on his shoulders. He's taking it seriously. It's something he's worked his whole life for, and the Commanders need him to make a significant impression right out of the gate.
Hype is already growing around Styles. A strong start at OTAs would send it through the roof.
