Odafe Oweh - Commanders OLB
The Washington Commanders will face a familiar face on prime time. Offensive tackle Trent Williams always saves a little extra for his old team, after they traded him for next to nothing. And he wasted no time throwing shade ahead of the contest.
Williams can back up all his big talk. Despite being firmly in his career twilight, he remains one of the league's most accomplished blindside enforcers. He can stonewall anyone, which makes Odafe Oweh's contribution even more important.
Oweh got a massive contract from the Commanders this offseason. Washington was confident he could go from a rotational rusher to a legitimate three-down force, but it's taking time. The Penn State product is flashing quality early in games, but sustaining this for four quarters is the next challenge.
Facing a supreme force like Williams is always difficult. Oweh is under pressure to produce, and this would be a good time for a legitimate breakout game.
Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB
The Commanders got some nice returns from Jayden Daniels during his first game back from a dislocated elbow. Unfortunately for the dynamic quarterback, all anyone will remember is his lapse in concentration that cost his team a chance to beat the New York Giants in overtime.
Daniels appreciated Dan Quinn taking the lion's share of blame. At the same time, he held himself accountable and spoke in front of his teammates to acknowledge the complete failure at the worst possible time.
The signal-caller is highly competitive. Daniels has vowed that it won't happen again, but the size of the task facing Washington on Monday Night Football cannot be overstated.
San Francisco is in red-hot form right now. Their defense might be missing some influential figures, but they have more than enough to cause Daniels problems. And after how things ended in Week 5, he needs a massive performance to give his team a fighting chance.
Dan Quinn - Commanders HC
This game is being framed as a referendum on how much locker-room belief remains in head coach Dan Quinn. He took the fire for Washington's egregious overtime blunder against the Giants, which now demands a positive response with backs against the wall.
Some fans were calling for Quinn to be fired this week. That was never going to happen, but majority owner Josh Harris is reportedly watching things extremely closely to see how the Commanders fight back in the face of adversity.
And if it looks like the team has quit on Quinn, Harris' stance could reportedly change.
Everyone has been saying the right things this week. Quinn has turned the page, and he's confident that things will be better moving forward. But at 1-3-1 with nowhere to go but up, talk is cheap.
And we'll learn a lot about the brotherhood Quinn worked so hard to build, with the prime-time spotlight glaring.
