Commanders could trade for Joshua Palmer
The Buffalo Bills harbor lofty ambitions to go deep into the playoffs again this season. They fired Sean McDermott and promoted offensive coordinator Joe Brady to head coach. And with quarterback Josh Allen under center, they should be among the AFC's heavyweights once again.
While the weapons around Allen haven't been all that stellar overall in the past, that is changing. The Bills traded for D.J. Moore this offseason, who's a borderline No. 1 receiver who can become a quarterback's best friend in no time at all. Khalil Shakir is another dynamic pass-catcher, Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox are a prolific tight end tandem, and running back James Cook III is among the best dual-threat backs in the league.
It gets a little sketchy after that. All hope is not lost with Keon Coleman despite an underwhelming first two years in the league. If he makes the desired progress, the Bills could make Joshua Palmer available if the right offer presents itself.
Palmer may not be a world-beater, but he's got more proven production than most in the Washington Commanders' receiver room. This would also be relatively cheap, which could intrigue Adam Peters if he wants to protect his high-end draft assets for a phenomenal 2027 class.
Commanders could trade for Jerry Jeudy
This would be on the more ambitious side compared to other names on the list, but a situation is developing within the Cleveland Browns that could make Jerry Jeudy somewhat expendable down the line.
The Browns are not expected to be good this season. They are banking on oft-injured quarterback Deshaun Watson having a career renaissance that just doesn't seem feasible. They traded All-Pro edge rusher Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams, leading some to believe they may have already waved the white flag on the 2026 campaign.
Couple this with the Browns drafting KC Concepcion in the first round and Denzel Boston in the second this year, and a youth movement is firmly in effect. Jeudy's experience and slick route running remain valuable to the club, but he might also be available if the right trade offer comes along.
The Commanders should be all over this if the Browns eventually start taking calls for Jeudy.
At 27, there is still a lot of good football left. The 2020 first-round pick brings a speed element Washington lacks right now, and he knows how to make big plays in key moments. The compensation attached might be a little off-putting, but this would be an exceptional addition to the squad.
