The Washington Commanders have now wrapped up their mandatory minicamp. Players will head off on their pre-summer break to ready themselves for some tough upcoming challenges. But for head coach Dan Quinn and general manager Adam Peters, the hard work is just beginning.

Washington's power couple will now assess the landscape. They will take stock of where things stand and what more might be needed to improve their bounce-back chances. The vibes are pretty high, and the players have responded well to the raised tempo. Now, it's about fine-tuning the group to ensure they get as much as possible out of joint practices, the preseason, and their all-important training camp.

There is enormous pressure on the Commanders to bounce back next season. Everyone knows it, and it's brought a positive response. And the final day of mandatory minicamp enabled a select few to catch the eye at one of the best possible times.

With this in mind, here are six standouts from Day 3 of minicamp.

Supreme standouts from Washington Commanders 2026 minicamp Day 3

Jake Moody - Commanders PK

It's no secret that Jake Moody is under fire right now. The veteran kicker is looking to hold onto his starting spot next season, but undrafted rookie Drew Stevens is not making things easy. Dan Quinn wants this competition to go on right through the summer. And in all honesty, he might not have had much choice.

Stevens has had a fantastic minicamp. He once again drilled all six of his field goal attempts on the final day. But this time, Moody was not going to be outdone.

The former Ohio State star was also a perfect 6-for-6. Moody is not going to give up his spot without a fight, and it'll be interesting to see who comes out on top.

Darius Rush - CB

The Commanders have their top three cornerbacks locked up. Trey Amos, Mike Sainristil, and Amik Robertson will lead the charge. Adam Peters could add another productive veteran at some stage, but until something gets confirmed, those around are getting the chance to fight it out.

According to those in attendance for the third day of minicamp, Darius Rush had himself a good practice. The 6-foot-2 corner looked assured coverage and anticipated things going on in front of him. This was evidenced by his pick-six in 7-on-7 drills, jumping a throw from seventh-round pick Athan Kaliakmanis.

There is no telling for sure if Rush has the skills to make Washington's 53-man roster right now. But a few more outings like this over training camp will only enhance his claims.
