The intensity and overall tempo remain high at Washington Commanders training camp. Head coach Dan Quinn seems pretty enthused by the way things are unfolding, and there have been plenty of positive signs from players looking for important roles in 2026.
This is exactly what fans wanted to see. The Commanders almost went through the motions this time last year. Wide receiver Terry McLaurin's contract holdout cast a dark cloud over the franchise, and everyone took their foot off the throttle after reaching the NFC Championship game in Year 1 of Quinn's tenure.
Nobody needs to be reminded of what followed, but everyone has turned the page now. This is all about moving forward positively, and there is a much more vibrant feel after wholesale changes throughout a busy offseason.
The players are now fully settled into their respective roles and what's demanded from the coaching staff. Washington's integration stage is over, and things are starting to open up. But after the defense dominated the opening stages of camp, David Blough's offense is now finding its groove.
And Tuesday's session was easily the more effective offensive display so far.
With this in mind, here are five major standouts from another worthwhile practice on Day 6 of Commanders' training camp.

Van Jefferson Jr. - Commanders WR
After working primarily on red-zone and third-down situations over the initial exchanges of training camp, the Washington Commanders opened up more of the field in this session. This would be a sterner test for the offense, but it's one they passed with flying colors.
One of the biggest concerns among the wide receivers behind Terry McLaurin on the depth chart is their perceived inability to create separation. It's why there remains speculation around Stefon Diggs potentially joining the ranks at some stage, but general manager Adam Peters is keeping in touch while also giving those around a chance to shine.
This is the right call. But if separation is an issue, that doesn't appear to be the case with Van Jefferson Jr.

The veteran free-agent signing showcased his speed and ability to get open throughout Day 6. Jefferson boasts more experience than anyone outside of McLaurin, which is coming across. It'll be interesting to see if he does make the team, but one cannot be anything other than impressed by the way he's gone about his business so far this offseason.
Jefferson is on the right track, but Diggs' possible arrival could impact him more than any other pass-catcher.
