Chris Hilton Jr. - Commanders WR/CB

Speculation remains around San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk potentially reuniting with quarterback Jayden Daniels. Just when that will be is anyone's guess, but most experts believe another productive veteran is needed to give the signal-caller everything he needs to bounce back after a frustrating 2025 campaign.

Until something gets confirmed one way or another, other wide receivers will get the chance to impress. And once the 2026 draft concluded, the Washington Commanders moved swiftly to acquire someone Daniels is also familiar with.

While Chris Hilton Jr.'s momentum at LSU was dented by nagging injuries more often than not, he's got some promise. There were issues with drops, so his concentration levels must improve to stand any chance of making an impact. However, his previous chemistry with Daniels should stand him in good stead.

There is some speculation about whether Hilton will come in as a wide receiver or a cornerback. The Commanders will likely try him out at both spots before making a final decision, but there is a better opening on defense. Either way, his arrival brings intrigue, and this no doubt got Daniels' seal of approval as general manager Adam Peters continues to build around his franchise player.

Jeffrey M'Ba - Commanders DL

The Commanders are moving forward into what will hopefully be a profitable new era defensively. Head coach Dan Quinn was blown away by Daronte Jones' plans for the unit, with his background working under elite minds adding real intrigue.

Jones is projected to move the Commanders into a 3-4 base front. The moves made this offseason reflect that. Daron Payne and Javon Kinlaw are still around, and the return of Tim Settle Jr. in free agency provides Washington with a stout trio capable of causing havoc if everyone stays clear of injury.

Aside from pass-rush specialist Johnny Newton, there are questions elsewhere on the defensive front depth chart. Shy Tuttle was re-signed, and D.J. Davidson has some useful athleticism. But for undrafted free agent Jeffrey M'Ba, this is a huge chance to force his way into Washington's plans.

M'Ba is an older rookie at 26, but he's fully developed physically with the brute force and violent hands required in the trenches. At 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds with some outstanding college production at SMU, he'll be a player the coaching staff will monitor closely in the weeks and months ahead.

It might come to nothing, but M'Ba has a better opportunity than most UDFAs. Learning from the likes of Payne, Kinlaw, and Settle will only help his cause.
