Olamide Zaccheaus gains 10+ receptions

As mentioned previously, the Washington Commanders are dealing with some health issues in their wide receiver room. Not exactly ideal at this late stage of the campaign, but something they must cope with effectively nonetheless.

Noah Brown is still on injured reserve and might not play again this season. Dyami Brown is missing in Week 17 with a hamstring issue. All-Pro candidate Terry McLaurin was nursing an ankle complication throughout the week but doesn't carry a designation into the contest.

This means someone else needs to step up and become a focal point. Olamide Zaccheaus looks the most likely, especially considering his impressive performance against the Philadelphia Eagles.

He'll get the chance for another strong performance versus an old employer against the Atlanta Falcons. McLaurin will get the attention of cornerback A.J. Terrell and perhaps even stud safety Jessie Bates III. That could leave plenty of space underneath for Zaccheaus and others to do damage.

The former undrafted free agent out of Virginia hasn't come close to reaching double-digit receptions this season. That could change this weekend if early momentum is generated.

Frankie Luvu gains 10 tackles, two sacks

One only has to look at the chosen captains for this weekend's game to see its significance. Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels is one. Special teams ace Nick Bellore is another. Their inspirational leader on defense got the final badge.

That, of course, is Frankie Luvu.

The ferocious linebacker quickly emerged as the beating heart of Washington's defense. Bobby Wagner brings understated professionalism and Pro Football Hall of Fame credentials. Luvu brings the fire for others to follow.

This duo is among the league's best at the defensive second level. Luvu was an outstanding off-season addition and a franchise cornerstone piece to build around long-term. He'll be eager to continue his outstanding run of performances since joining the ranks versus a familiar foe.

Luvu is no stranger to the Falcons. He spent the last three years going up against them twice a season during his time with the Carolina Panthers. He'll know their strengths and weaknesses, so exploiting them accordingly is key.

Expect Luvu to be at his relentless best in this one. Something that would go a long way to cementing Washington's playoff spot.
