NFL verdict on Commanders sale document

Josh Harris and his group of investors got a pretty quick response from the NFL regarding the documents to take over the Washington Commanders. This is another positive step in the process, which needs to go through a formal voting stage with other league owners before everything gets officially confirmed.

According to The Washington Post, the tentative agreement had no major issues from the league’s perspective. More importantly, a joint report from Mark Maske and Nicki Jhabvala added that there shouldn’t be much – if any – pushback from owners regarding the sale.

"“The NFL’s informal review of Josh Harris’s tentative $6.05 billion deal for the Commanders has found only minor issues for Harris’s group to address, source says, nothing major that would threaten approval of the purchase. Josh Harris’s purchase of the Commanders almost certainly will be ratified by the owners, source says, if the deal is properly modified and issues related to indemnification and the NFL’s investigation of Daniel Snyder and the team can be resolved.”"

Although the bid is non-exclusive, it would be a real shock if another offer came in that was worthy of consideration at the 11th hour. Something that was also recognized by Dan Snyder, who was quick to accept the Harris group’s bid once Jeff Bezos officially declared himself out of the running.

It’s all systems go. Every Commanders fan walking the earth can be thankful for that.
