Which Washington Commanders have the potential to significantly move the needle when the 2023 campaign arrives?

For everyone across the Washington Commanders to enjoy better fortunes in 2023, it must be a collective effort. The pressure will be on in no uncertain terms if Dan Snyder sells the franchise as expected, but their task won’t be easy given how competitive the NFC East looks set to be once again next season.

Looking at the current roster, it’s in pretty good shape. Washington’s defense looks like it could make some serious noise and if the offense makes improvements, Ron Rivera’s men are going to be a tough nut to crack.

More will be acquired via the 2023 NFL Draft and free agency if the Commanders free up extra funds. With urgency the way it is, absolutely nothing should be off the table in pursuit of potential contention.

For now, here are four Commanders with the scope to move the needle considerably in 2023.

After an encouraging spell as a rookie considering the most dramatic, turbulent start to his NFL career imaginable, hopes are high that Brian Robinson Jr. can thrive further in the lead running back role in 2023. The Washington Commanders cut J.D. McKissic, which should leave the Alabama product as the focal point within Eric Bieniemy’s new offensive system alongside Antonio Gibson.

The Commanders could still add to the room via the draft. But it would be a huge shock if Robinson wasn’t given increased responsibilities with a less complicated off-season period.
