Cole Turner – Commanders TE

Those within the tight end room are nervously awaiting further additions before OTAs arrive. This hasn’t come via free agency as yet, which could indicate the Washington Commanders have their sights set on a talented prospect from what appears to be the deepest draft class at the position in recent memory.

Eric Bieniemy‘s arrival brings an extra level of intrigue about how tight ends will be implemented. He enjoyed some outstanding success with Travis Kelce on the Kansas City Chiefs, so expect something similar if the assistant head coach/offensive coordinator feels like the personnel is there to achieve his objectives.

One player that could be set for major improvements is Cole Turner. The former Nevada standout was a relative bystander during his rookie campaign, so the 2022 fifth-round selection has a lot of hard work ahead in pursuit of proving himself to Bieniemy.

Turner has the pass-catching talent to contribute based on his college production. But he remains an unknown quantity heading into his sophomore NFL campaign after almost no involvement as a rookie.

If Turner thrives during the upcoming preparation period, he’ll be rewarded. If another prospect from the college ranks is acquired, then his chances of involvement could be slim depending on what the Commanders end up doing with Logan Thomas.
