A new owner or ownership group will be confirmed in the very near future based on multiple reports, which increases pressure on head coach Ron Rivera to make the improvements needed heading into Year 4 of his tenure.
It’s been a solid if not spectacular free-agency period for the Commanders so far. Very few landmark arrivals have been acquired, although those in power deserve credit for ensuring future financial flexibility and getting stud defensive tackle Daron Payne tied down long-term.
With the NFC East looking like a competitive division once again next season, the Commanders have no margin for error. A fast start is crucial and those on the roster with question marks must alleviate them quickly in pursuit of better fortunes.

Cameron Dantzler Sr. – Commanders CB
The Washington Commanders bolstered their cornerback options by picking up Cameron Dantzler Sr. off the waiver wire. His time with the Minnesota Vikings ended abruptly following a down year in 2022, but his first two seasons of solid production indicate a potential bounce-back campaign next time around under Jack Del Rio could be in the offing.
Dantzler might be a productive starter or things could go horribly wrong. However, it’s not costing the Commanders much to find out one way or another.
