5 draft prospects Eric Bieniemy might want for Commanders offense in 2023

Commanders could draft Kayshon Boutte
- Wide Receiver | LSU Tigers
Picking a wide receiver high in the pecking order over the opening two days might be seen as a luxury to most fans. Especially considering the Washington Commanders already have Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel, Jahan Dotson, and Dyami Brown for Eric Bieniemy to utilize.
However, no team can ever have enough solid pass-catchers. If the right prospect falls or the team deems high value at some stage, they won’t hesitate to increase competition in their wideout room.
One prospect that’s gone relatively overlooked despite flashing elite qualities at LSU is Kayshon Boutte. Many analysts projected him as a top-10 pick before the 2022 campaign, but things didn’t go according to plan over his final 11 games with the Tigers and it was something of a surprise to see him declare for the draft with decreasing stock.
Boutte has all the athletic attributes needed to be a star. Confidence was clearly an issue for the player in 2022, which needs to be examined carefully by any team looking to integrate him immediately into their rotation.
Providing Boutte is motivated enough to silence his doubters, this would be an embarrassment of riches for Bieniemy. But considering he could be a second-round selection, the Commanders might look for someone a little further down the order in this scenario.
