The Washington Commanders are hoping to get back on track this Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. If the Commanders lose and fall to 1-5, you can all but put the nail in their coffin for the season. With a tough upcoming schedule, they’d be hard-pressed to claw back to .500, let alone compete for the playoffs.

Instead of harping on the negative, though, let’s focus on ways for Commanders fans to win some money betting on the game. Our prop bets are looking to piggyback off a strong week after Jahan Dotson scored a touchdown at +300 odds. Now, it’s time to offer up our best overall bets for Commanders vs Titans.

3 best bets for Commanders vs Titans in Week 5

3. Cam Sims anytime touchdown scorer (+550)

The Commanders’ red zone offense has been non-existent the last couple weeks. You could probably say that for the entire offense in general, but Scott Turner needs to get more creative once Washington enters the red area. Why not get the offense’s biggest receiver more involved to help ignite a spark?

At 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds, Sims is by far the Commanders’ most physically imposing wideout and he always delivers despite limited opportunities. He made a fantastic end zone grab in preseason against the Chiefs and we like him to be an unlikely touchdown scorer this Sunday against Tennessee.

2. Both teams to score a TD in first quarter (+138)

The Commanders haven’t scored a first half touchdown in three weeks, so banking on them to score in the opening 15 minutes is a roll of the dice. However, Tennessee’s defense doesn’t scare anyone and they already ruled out starters Bud Dupree, Amani Hooker, and Zach Cunningham for the game due to injury.

On the other side, Washington’s defense is impossible to figure out. For all of their success defending the run, they get absolutely gashed through the air and can’t help but allow explosive plays. I’m not in love with the Titans’ non-Derrick Henry weapons, but they should find a way to score in the opening quarter.

1. Commanders to win on the moneyline (+108)

That’s right, folks. I like Washington to get back on the winning side of things against Tennessee. The Titans’ defense presents a get-right matchup for the slumping aerial attack and a chance for the running game to keep improving after back-to-back strong showings. For all of the offensive line’s struggles in pass protection, they seem to have things figured creating holes for the backfield.

Furthermore, Washington’s run defense has quietly been elite and Tennessee’s entire offense revolves around Derrick Henry. If Jack Del Rio can scheme up a game plan to limit Henry’s impact, the Commanders should be in pole position to win.

Thanks to the oddsmakers for making Washington a home underdog. At +108 odds, we love the Commanders to right the ship on Sunday.

Commanders next game and upcoming schedule

In Week 6, the Commanders will lock horns with the Bears on Thursday Night Football, marking Washington’s first primetime game of the season. It’s not a sexy matchup by any stretch of the imagination, but it should be more fun to watch than the disaster the Broncos and Colts delivered this past Thursday.
