We can all agree the Washington Commanders are due for some good luck, right? After an adversity-laden 2021 season that saw the team endure countless injuries to impact players, a December COVID breakout that derailed its playoff hopes and playing an unforgiving schedule, their luck has to change.

While COVID is seemingly in the rearview and you can never rule out injuries, Washington will get some relief on the schedule front in 2022.

That was bound to happen, as they played the NFL’s hardest schedule by most metrics last campaign. Even if you’re not an analytics junkie, one glance at the quarterbacks they locked horns with was all the evidence you needed.

Luckily for the Commanders, they’re tied (with the Cowboys, of course) for the league’s easiest schedule next season, as the combined record of their 2022 opponents is a lousy133-155-1, or a .462 winning percentage.

Though we’ve known Washington’s opponent list for multiple months, the full schedule was announced on Thursday night. This is obviously a huge deal, so let’s highlight some of the major bullet points from the reveal.

The Commanders’ full 2022 regular season schedule

  • Week 1 – vs Jaguars
  • Week 2 – @ Lions
  • Week 3 – vs Eagles
  • Week 4 – @ Cowboys
  • Week 5 – vs Titans
  • Week 6 – @ Bears (TNF)
  • Week 7 -vs Packers
  • Week 8 – @ Colts
  • Week 9 – vs Vikings
  • Week 10 -@ Eagles (MNF)
  • Week 11 @ Texans
  • Week 12 – vs Falcons
  • Week 13 – @ Giants
  • Week 14 – BYE
  • Week 15 – vs Giants
  • Week 16 – @ 49ers (Christmas Eve)
  • Week 17 – vs Browns
  • Week 18 – vs Cowboys

How many primetime games will Commanders play?

The Commanders will play three primetime games in 2022. The first, Week 6 in Chicago for Thursday Night Football, was leaked before the full schedule was announced, so some fans were likely already aware of the trip to Solider Field.

The second will come in Week 10 in Philly on Monday Night Football. The appeal with this matchup is obvious, as it’ll mark Carson Wentz’s first return to the City of Brotherly Love since his unceremonious departure in 2020.

Washington won’t be playing on Christmas Day this year, but they’ll be part of the festivities for a Christmas Eve matchup in San Francisco. With the entire country watching, this will be a huge game for the Commanders.

When is the Commanders’ bye week in 2022?

The Commanders’ bye week will come extremely late in Week 14. Last year, Washington owned a Week 9 bye and it seemed to come at a perfect time, as they rattled off four straight victories to catapult themselves back into the playoff mix. Having games in 13 consecutive weeks will be taxing, but we’re not about to make excuses after everything this team overcame in 2021.

When do Commanders 2022 tickets go on sale?

According to the Commanders website, single-game tickets will go on sale immediately following the schedule’s release. The team will have an exclusive offer on Ticketmaster, including no fees for 48 hours once tickets go on sale. As always season-ticket and suite memberships are both currently up for grabs.

That’s everything, folks! What’s everyone’s predictions? We call dibs on 17-0.

Next. Carson Wentz will be at the center of attention in Week 1. dark
