The NFL season truly goes by too quickly

With the Washington Football Team’s 22-7 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday, they officially put a bow on their 2021-22 campaign.

In many ways, fans are relieved the season is over. Yes, the playoffs would’ve been fun, but now everyone’s attention can be fixated on the offseason, which will include the reveal of a new nickname and sweeping roster changes.

While it’d be smart to take all of this one step at a time, the NFL gave fans a reason to look ahead to the 2022 regular season this past weekend.

Just as Washington was putting the finishing touches on Sunday’s victory, the league announced next season’s opponents for every team.

As always, the NFL will unveil its 2022 regular season schedule in full at some point after the draft. The next time the club takes the field, it’ll have new names and uniforms, so let’s dive into the nitty gritty of its 2022 slate.

The Washington Football Team’s slate of opponents in 2022 have been confirmed by the NFL.

Like they do every year, Washington will have six games on the schedule consumed by their NFC East rivals. They’ll have one home and away game apiece against the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants.

Washington finished 2-4 in the division this season, with their lone wins coming against the laughingstock Giants. In their four tilts vs the Cowboys and Eagles, though, the Football Team lost by an average of 15.7 points.

So, without further ado..

Here is the complete list of opponents set to visit FedEx Field in 2022:

  1. Green Bay Packers
  2. Minnesota Vikings
  3. Jacksonville Jaguars
  4. Tennessee Titans
  5. Cleveland Browns
  6. Atlanta Falcons
  7. Dallas Cowboys
  8. Philadelphia Eagles
  9. New York Giants

Here’s the complete list of teams set for visits from Washington in 2022:

  1. Detroit Lions
  2. Chicago Bears
  3. Houston Texans
  4. Indianapolis Colts
  5. San Francisco 49ers
  6. Dallas Cowboys
  7. Philadelphia Eagles
  8. New York Giants

Like Washington, a lot of those teams could look a lot different by the start of next season. However, based on what we saw from them in 2021-22, this schedule won’t be nearly as intimidating as it was this year.

In terms of the QB position, Washington had to lock horns with Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes, Dak Prescott, Justin Herbert, Josh Allen and Derek Carr, who deserves more respect, this campaign.

Next season, you’re looking at Rodgers and Prescott again, but other than that Washington made out like bandits. We suppose that’s one perk of playing a third-place schedule, but playing multiple franchises — the Giants, Bears, Lions, Texans, Falcons and Jaguars — that are in the midst of a rebuild is awesome.

There’s a lot riding on this offseason as it pertains to Washington’s future, but if the front office can hit on some high-profile moves, 2022’s list of opponents suggest this team will be poised for a big bounce-back season.
