It’s schedule week in the NFL and Washington Commanders fans are jubiliant knowing the team will play one of the weaker schedules in 2022.

Last season, they had the toughest schedule of any squad, which included a murderer’s row of quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, Tom Brady, Russell Wilson, Derek Carr and Matt Ryan.

Between the legal tampering period, the draft, the schedule release, training camp and the preseason, the NFL dominates the sporting calendar year round and no organization knows how to create such a buzz around its product.

After all, the league has managed to turns its schedule release into a week-long event. Every team’s 2022 slate will be released in full on Thursday, but leaks are going to trickle out leading up to the deadline, as the NFL is allowing its broadcast partners to announce games that will be televised on their network.

Everything Commanders fans need to know about the 2022 schedule.

On Monday, new ESPN tandem Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, formerly of FOX, revealed on “Good Morning America” that there’ll be a Monday Night Football doubleheader in Week 2 between the Bills and Titans and Eagles and Vikings.

CBS will conduct a similar announcement on Tuesday, followed by FOX on Wednesday and NBC on Thursday. Will the Commanders feature on one of these disclosures? It’s possible, but we already know the team’s 2022 opponents. Here are the teams scheduled to visit the new-look FedEx Field this year.

  • Green Bay Packers
  • Minnesota Vikings
  • Tennesse Titans
  • Jacksonville Jaguars
  • Atlanta Falcons
  • Dallas Cowboys
  • New York Giants
  • Philadelphia Eagles
  • Cleveland Browns

The Commanders will hit the road to play these teams in 2022:

  • Indianapolis Colts
  • Houston Texans
  • Detroit Lions
  • Chicago Bears
  • San Francisco 49ers
  • Dallas Cowboys
  • New York Giants
  • Philadelphia Eagles

The only details we know thus far in terms of dates is that Washington will welcome Cleveland to FedEx Field in Week 18. The 17th game was supposed to be against an AFC third-place finisher and the Browns meet that criteria more so than the other four AFC teams on the Commanders’ 2022 itinerary.

Stay tuned to see if Washington will play a nationally-televised game one one of the major networks. If not, we’ll see you Thursday!
