3 reasons Washington fans should be rooting for 49ers to win NFC

2. The 49ers sent the Cowboys packing
Could you imagine how awful this glorious Sunday would be if the Dallas Cowboys were still kicking in the playoffs? Between their fans and media coverage, it would be an insufferable time for Washington fans.
Thanks to the 49ers, though, we don’t have to worry about that.
If only we could go back in time and relive Wild Card Weekend, which saw Dallas bounced at home by San Francisco. Because it’s the Cowboys, they were either going to win or lose spectacularly.
Thanks to the heavily-maligned decision to run a QB draw with 14 seconds left in regulation and zero timeouts, “America’s Team” lost in spectacular fashion. Dak Prescott cost his team precious seconds by foolishly handing the ball to his center instead of locating the referee, and time ran out.
The Cowboys’ season ended without ever attempting a shot at the end zone. How perfect? To make the defeat even more luxurious for Washington fans, Dallas committed 14 penalties, eight of which nullified a first down conversion or gifted the 49ers their own first down, and still proceeded to blame the refs postgame.
The lack of accountability, which was led by Mike McCarthy, suggests the Cowboys won’t become more disciplined before next season. In other words, they’ll likely make the same mistakes in next year’s playoffs, if they make it that far.
We’re two weeks removed from the game and Dallas is STILL getting destroyed for choking at home when they had everything in place to win a championship. For that, we say thank you San Francisco and …
Let’s. Go. 49ers.
