NFC East Special Teams Reality Check Rankings

According to Lineups.com, the special teams rankings from last season have the Eagles’  unit ranked 27th in the league. The Football Teams comes in at 15th, New York at 13th, and Dallas 12th. Washington’s Tress Way was the only All-Pro special teamer from the division last season, but Dustin Hopkins’ preseason woes puts a damper on the overall confidence in the unit as a whole.

Dallas’ Greg Zuerlein and New York’s Graham Gano are dependable kickers, but Zuerlein has been nicked up in the preseason, so it’s unclear how healthy he is going into the season. In addition, they have a new punter in Brian Anger after releasing Chris Jones to make salary cap space. Anger was decidedly worse than Chris Jones last season, so overall, the Cowboys have downgraded their special teams unit this offseason.

Put that all together, and here’s where my NFC East special teams confidence picks land for the upcoming season:

4.) Philadelphia

2.) Tie: Dallas/Washington

1.) New York
