Short Yardage 2

They did it a couple of times last year. College quarterback Logan Thomas lines up under center. With his 6-foot-6, 250 pound frame, he is an obvious quarterback sneak option. And with that height and his quarterback skills, a jump pass off a fake sneak is always in play. This would really keep opposing defenses guessing.

And they now have an equally obvious target for the pass. Put the mammoth Cornelius Lucas in at right tackle and line up starting tackle Samuel Cosmi next to him at tight end. The athletically gifted Cosmi can help seal the edge if a run is called. And he can also become a great big target for Thomas to lob a pass to. Who says no??

I don’t want to flood OC Scott Turner with too many great ideas all at once, so I’ll stop there. But there will be more as needed during the season. I’m no Al Saunders, but I have ideas, man.
