2. Will Sam Cosmi handle his business or will New England’s pass rush eat him up?

Sam Cosmi has had quite the roller-coaster of an offseason if you exclusively read the headlines. Right after rookie minicamp, Morgan Moses was released, leading many to believe that the coaching staff was extremely impressed with what they had in Cosmi. Then, training camp came, and the early returns from beat reporters was that Cosmi was getting annihilated by Chase Young and Montez Sweat, looking like he might not be ready for live action any time soon.

But then the pads came on in the second week of camp, and Cosmi’s early detractors started backing down. Cosmi is a rookie. He’ll have his down moments. But if he can largely hold his ground and look like he belongs in this first preseason game, it will be very encouraging about the potential overall upside for this offensive line. Cornelius Lucas as your swing tackle garners a much better feeling than Saahdiq Charles as your swing tackle.
