Wide Receiver

Rostered: (6) Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel, Cam Sims, Adam Humphries, Dyami Brown, Antonio Gandy-Golden

Washington’s most difficult position group to predict is wide receiver. Entering 2020, finding five receivers worth a roster spot must have been difficult for Ron Rivera and staff.

Entering 2021, deciding which five or six receivers to keep may be even more difficult. Some worthy of an active roster spot will have to be told goodbye. Those being told goodbye in this scenario would include Kelvin Harmon, Dax Milne, Steven Sims Jr., and Isaiah Wright.

Terry McLaurin is a legit number one receiver without question. Cam Sims is a starting-caliber player with special teams ability. Adam Humphries will be the first real slot player the team has had in a few years. Humphries can also return punts on an as-needed basis.

To round out this group, adding Curtis Samuel via free agency and Dyami Brown via the draft was essential. Team speed increased, as did the versatility of the offense. Both should be able to line up in multiple spots.

Opposing defenses can no longer key on stopping Terry McLaurin. Look for this group to show an increase in production, especially with a risk-taker like Fitzpatrick at quarterback. One would expect more explosive downfield plays with this combination of players.
