NFC East QB Confidence Rankings: Dallas Cowboys

  • Starter: Dak Prescott – 7.5
  • Back-up: Cooper Rush – 3.0
  • Deep Back-up: Garrett Gilbert, Ben DiNucci – 1.0

Dallas has the best starter and the worst backup situation in the league. Prescott would have an even higher ranking were he not coming off a serious injury. We won’t know until we see him play if his skills have been diminished due to his ankle injury in 2020.

His prognosis appears good, and if he can return to his previous form, playing behind a healthy offensive line and with the best skill position weapons in the division, he could have a monster year.

But another injury spells big trouble in big D. Andy Dalton is gone and as of now, it would fall to either Rush or Gilbert to pilot the high-priced ship. I assume it will Rush, but neither inspires much confidence.

If anything, Rush is the choice because we have seen more of what both Gilbert and DiNucci can do, and neither can do much. But at least I rated them above Patrick the Starfish.
