Coming into the open negotiations period, the Washington Football Team seemed primed to spend, with almost $40 million in cap space.

Instead, the Washington Football Team came out of the first day with only one player — journeyman quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. They also lost two defensive starters from the 2020 season in Ronald Darby and Kevin Pierre-Louis.

As we saw last season, the new Washington Football Team doesn’t panic in situations like this. They have the ability to find value deals late in the process.
