Upper Tier

Hunter Henry, Chargers

Hunter Henry is the biggest name among the free-agent tight ends, but will he be available?  Strong rumors suggest that he will be tagged by the Chargers with the intent to sign a long-term deal.  If Henry somehow becomes available, the Washington Football Team is unlikely to offer him a contract.  The price will be too high.

Rob Gronkowski, Buccaneers

More from Riggo's Rag

Rob Gronkowski in a Washington uniform this fall?  THE Rob Gronkowski?  Could it happen?  Time for a reality check.  Gronkowski is not coming to Ashburn — unless it is in the playoffs again early next year.  It’s a nice thought, but Gronk is going to be back with Tampa Bay in 2021.

Robert Tonyan, Packers

Robert Tonyan came out of nowhere to have a great season for Green Bay.  It helps to have the league MVP throwing passes his way.  Tonyan is a restricted free agent and the Packers will certainly place a second-round tender on him and that should keep Washington from making an offer.  Tonyan will be spending another season in the frozen tundra of Wisconsin.

Prediction:  Each of these tight ends would be a solid addition in Washington, but their current teams will not let them get a taste of free agency in 2021.
