Middle Tier

Gerald Everett, Rams

Gerald Everett is one of the most underrated tight ends in the NFL today.  His production doesn’t jump out at you right away, but he had his reception totals limited somewhat with the number of good receivers on the Rams roster.  Everett would be a very affordable option for the Washington Football Team, but they are sure to face some keen competition for his services.

Jonnu Smith, Titans

More from Commanders Free Agency

Jonnu Smith is another talented tight end that is likely to be tagged by his team.  Multiple social media reports have strongly suggested that Smith is not going anywhere.  His production was not the most impressive in 2020, but Smith has a lot of upside and that is why the Titans will try to work out a long-term deal.

Anthony Firkser, Titans

Anthony Firkser could hit free agency if Jonnu Smith remains in Tennessee.  Firkser is a restricted free agent and a number of teams will be vying for his services, but Tennessee could tag him with a higher round offer.  He put forth very modest numbers in 2018 and 2019, but had something of a breakout year in 2020.

After bouncing around the league a bit, Firkser found a home in Tennessee.  Could he find a new home in Ashburn?

Prediction:  Firkser is a possibility if the Titans go with the basic restricted free agent offer.  It would require no draft compensation, but Tennessee could match the offer and keep him in Nashville.
