The Washington Football Team is inching closer to the opening day of free agency and there are several enticing players who could fill various needs.  Today’s focus will center on tight ends.

During the first few games of 2020, the Washington Football Team was stumbling out of the gate and one of the issues was the performance at tight end.

Starter Logan Thomas was struggling and fans wanted to see the team add a tight end via a trade or sniping one from a practice squad.  Yours truly was very negative on Thomas here at Riggo’s Rag in those opening weeks and that was a mistake – a good mistake.  As the season progressed, Thomas improved drastically and became a solid focal point in the offense.

Does Washington need to add a quality tight end in free agency?  Perhaps, but adding a tight end can also bolster depth at the position and provide someone to pair with Thomas in double sets.

Too, don’t be surprised if Washington adds a tight end in the draft.  After Thomas, the production was sorely lacking and tight end depth is a definite need for the off-season.

Today, we continue our offseason free-agent series as free agency draws near (March 17).  Still to come over the next two weeks, we will be taking a look at wide receivers, running backs, and the biggest question mark of all – quarterbacks.  As we have done in recent weeks, we will take a look at the upper, middle, and lower-tier tight ends.  Let’s jump right in!
