Rashard Higgins, Browns

After being drafted in the fifth round by the Browns in 2016, Higgins was barely involved in the team’s offense until the 2018 season, when he built a good rapport with rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield.

In 2018, Higgins finished with 39 receptions for 572 yards and four touchdowns. After falling out of favor with the coaching staff in 2019 and barely seeing the field, he showed his value in 2020, providing the Browns with a valuable receiving option when Odell Beckham Jr. went down with a season-ending injury in Week 7.

In Week 7, Higgins finished with six receptions for 110 yards, and had two more six-reception games during the regular season, finishing with 37 receptions for 599 yards and four touchdowns.

Higgins’ numbers in 2018 and 2020 are very similar, proving that when he gets an opportunity, he produces. In 2020, quarterbacks had a 119.0 passer rating when targeting Higgins, which was tied with Kenny Golladay, who is going to be signed for a much larger contract, and higher than Stefon Diggs.

Higgins had no drops during the 2020 regular season, and 70% of his receptions led to first downs, as he was primarily targeted deep down the field. He also had a 77.4 PFF grade, which was only a hair below McLaurin’s 78.

At 26 years old and with only 1,959 career offensive snaps (for context, McLaurin has 1,713 offensive snaps in two years), Higgins has a lot of quality football ahead of him and could be a valuable low-cost asset for the Washington Football Team.
