It’s clear the Washington Football Team needs more receiving weapons behind Terry McLaurin. Instead of a huge splash, there are many potential gems that could provide value for whoever ends up throwing the ball next season.

Last season, after Terry McLaurin, the next leading receiver for the Washington Football Team was Cam Sims, who had 641 fewer yards than Scary Terry, finishing with 32 receptions for 477. The three leading wide receivers after McLaurin were Cam Sims, Steven Sims, and Isaiah Wright, all undrafted free agents.

The importance of more receiving weapons was made clear when Antonio Gibson was lost for a few games during the season. It became clear that defenses were focused on taking away McLaurin, since they didn’t respect the rest of the Washington Football Team’s playmakers.

During the three games Gibson missed (this includes the Steelers game where he left early in the first quarter), McLaurin was held to two catches for 14 yards, two catches for 24 yards, and seven catches for 77 yards, respectively.

Let’s take a look at some potential low-cost, high-value free agent WR targets that could become gems for the Washington Football Team this season, a la J.D. McKissic and Logan Thomas.
