How much should the Washington Football Team give up to trade for a QB?
By Jonathan Eig
Derek Carr, Las Vegas Raiders
Derek Carr is one of the two players on this list I see as most likely to come to the Washington Football Team. I know some fans think he is not much better than Bridgewater. I think a lot more highly of him. He has had a quiet career, but has steadily improved, and should just be entering his prime. His QB rating has topped 100 each of the last two years, and he has only been below 90 twice in his seven-year career.
I don’t believe Carr will ever be an elite QB. But he should continue to be an above-average one for at least five years to come. I would certainly be willing to begin negotiations with our first-round pick this season. The Raiders will ask for a lot more than that. If they demand another first-rounder, I hang up the phone. But if they bite on an offer of a first, third, and fifth in 2021, we have a deal.
