The Washington Football Team has a big free agency period coming up. Today, we’ll take a look at potential targets on the defensive line.

The Washington Football Team’s next free agency period will begin on March 17 at 4pm ET.  The early hours of free agency will bring plenty of action and moves to track. Contractual deals will come in with immediacy, as they always do, and Washington is almost guaranteed to be involved.

Washington is not expected to take a low-key journey through all of the chaos and madness in March, but how active the front office will be remains to be seen.  Washington possesses favorable salary cap space and it is probably a safe assumption that they’ll take an active approach. They could even clear more space by cutting away some lopsided contracts. We’ll keep that possibility in mind when surveying options in this article.

Our latest position to consider in our Riggo’s Rag series detailing free agent targets is the defensive linemen that could be available in March.  It is not a team need, but Washington could be looking at some quality depth to fortify one of the best defensive units in the league.  We’ll divide each set of players in these articles between upper tier, middle tier, and lower tier designations.

One item to note:  The defensive line position needs center on replacing Ryan Anderson and Ryan Kerrigan (most likely).  We will examine a few depth players that Washington could consider in today’s article and possibly a part-time starter if the said player can fit into the team’s salary cap structure.  Let’s get right to it!
