Game balls for Washington Football Team’s win vs. Steelers.

It’s a time-honored tradition when a winning NFL team celebrates a victory by handing out game balls to deserving players.  The Washington Football Team had four such players on Monday night vs. the Steelers.

Washington did the impossible on Monday night.  The 4-7 Burgundy and Gold (wearing all-white uniforms) beat the previously undefeated 11-0 Pittsburgh Steelers in their home stadium.  Can you believe it?  Wow!  The WFT could be on the cusp of being a very scary playoff option in a few weeks.  Scary for other teams.

There are still some tough games to negotiate, but Washington has served notice that any team playing them will be punched, kicked, harassed, and put into a heavyweight fight whether they want it or not.

Make no mistake, this wasn’t a victory where the visiting team “got lucky” or the home team was “due for a loss” at some point.  The Steelers fought hard and proud, but the better team on Monday was victorious and they played with heart, determination, and a very strong will to win.

Washington is a team that wants to win.  Washington is a team that wants to succeed.  Washington is a team that will fight to win anywhere, anytime, and no matter the final score, the opposing team will know that they have been in a brutal battle.

Today, we take the time to award our very own game balls to four players as the Riggo’s Rag vault is opened for the third week in a row and a few days of celebration.  Several WFTers are very deserving, but we must limit these accolades to just four athletes due to time and space constraints.  It’s time to take a look at the four awards for Monday’s game against the Steelers.
