The Washington Football Team completes a comeback to beat the Steelers.

The Pittsburgh Steelers were undefeated entering Week 12. They are no more. The Washington Football Team completed a crazy comeback against the Steelers to beat them 23-17.

Washington was down 14-0 with just a minute left before halftime in this game, and it looked all but over. The offense was showing no life. The defense was playing well, but they were being stretched too thin by their lacking offense.

Then, the team got a big play from Cam Sims at the end of the half. That set up a field goal that made it 14-3. That field goal sparked the offense and in the second half, they outscored the Steelers 20-3 to earn the victory.

The Washington defense deserves a lot of credit for what they did on the field during the game. They were spectacular throughout the game and made a ton of big plays. They continuously deflected passes during the game, but it was Montez Sweat who came up with the big one.

Sweat tipped a pass on the first play of the game where the Steelers trailed and it fell into the arms of Jon Bostic. There had been so many deflected passes and drops throughout the game but when it mattered the most, Washington made the play.

Along with Sweat, Daron Payne, Cole Holcomb, and Chase Young all had big days as well. They did a lot to limit the Steelers near the goal-line and just make Ben Roethlisberger uncomfortable.

Meanwhile, on offense, Alex Smith started the day poorly, but he was able to rebound in the second half. He led the team on several solid drives, avoided turnovers, and played well all-around.

Smith got assists via a career game from Logan Thomas (nine catches, 90 yards, one TD), J.D. McKissic (10 catches, 70 yards), and Cam Sims (five catches, 92 yards). They did well to bolster a Washington offense that saw Antonio Gibson exit with an injury and Terry McLaurin be held in check by the Steelers.

This is a massive win for Washington. They beat an undefeated team. They’re still in the running for the divisional title. And they continued to play well in the second half.
