Adrian Peterson isn’t missed by the Washington Football Team.

Adrian Peterson is a future Hall of Famer, there’s no question about that. Less than a month after releasing Derrius Guice after his domestic violence arrest, the Washington Football Team dropped Peterson in a surprising move.

Within a month, two of the top running backs on the team were released as Washington decided to move forward with rookie Antonio Gibson, journeyman J.D. McKissic, Peyton Barber, and the oft-injured Bryce Love as their top backs.

Peterson clearly remembers being cut by Washington and uses it as motivation. As Washington travels to play the Detroit Lions this week, Peterson has vowed that he will make the team pay for cutting him.

"“I would be lying to you if I told you that chip on my shoulder wasn’t there. They will get to realize what they let go.”"

While Washington’s offense is ranked 30th in total yards per game, and 29th in rushing yards per game, how much of a difference could Adrian Peterson have made? I’m sure his mentorship would have been worthwhile for the youngsters, but the team may have expected that his play would slip as he entered his 14th season.
